Pittsburgh has as much right to political ad indigestion as any city.
More outside money has poured into the hyper-competitive PA12 congressional race than to other in the country, according to new figures from the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation. Some $9.73 million in outside dough has gone into the race, which places it behind the presidential contest and 11 Senate races, but first for a House race.
The majority of that spending has been to Republican challenger Keith Rothfus's advantage, and Democratic incumbent Mark Critz has had to counter it with GOTV heft from organized labor and other allies.
Counting all ad reservations (for the presidential race on down) they say Pittsburgh has hosted the 5th most ad reservations nationwide after Las Vegas, Orlando, Norfolk and West Palm Beach.
