Levdansky, Saccone close

Published by Tim McNulty on .

From Janice Crompton:

From Democrat David Levdansky, who is clinging to a 401-vote lead over incumbent GOP State Rep. Rick Saccone in the 39th District, which encompasses most of the Mon Valley in Allegheny and Washington counties:

"It's close," said Mr. Levdansky, a 26-year incumbent who lost to Mr. Saccone two years ago by just 151 votes. "Right now, we're waiting for South Park."

Voters at the South Park High School may still be waiting in line to vote, said Mr. Levdansky, who visited the polling place late this evening and saw a line approximately 75 yards long.

"It was unbelievable how many people were there," said Mr. Levdansky, who expects the rest of the evening to be a "dogfight" for those votes in South Park, along with other precincts in Jefferson and Union which also haven't reported results.
