The Tribune-Democrat reports that Mark Critz, the Johnstown Democrat who lost his seat in Congress last year, is running for lieutenant governor.

The paper says Critz said so today on The Union Edge, a pro-labor talk radio show: "It's 100 percent; I just haven't made it official yet."

Critz lost in 2012 to Republican Keith Rothfus, but not before enduring a bruising primary fight  -- a "fratricidal bout," as Tim McNulty put it -- after he and fellow Democrat Jason Altmire were redistricted into one seat.

Critz took office after a 2010 special election to replace his former boss, legendary congressman John Murtha, and won a full term that November.
