McCord to make it official

State Treasurer Rob McCord will be in Pittsburgh Tuesday for the second stop on a kickoff tour for the long anticipated announcement of his bid for the Democratic nomination to take on Gov. Tom Corbett next year.

Mr. McCord will appear in the afternoon at the IBEW hall on the South Side.  The event will follow his official campaign debut earlier Tuesday at the Montgomery County Community College, not far from his suburban Philadelphia home.  His entry adds to the  crowded Democratic field that already included U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, two former state DEP secretaries, Katie McGinty and John Hanger, former state Revenue secretary Tom Wolf, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, Max Myers, a Cumberland County minister and Labanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz. Jack Wagner, the former auditor general, has said he is considering the race, despite his loss in the Pittsburgh Democratic primary for mayor in May.

Mr. Wagner could not be reached for comment Monday.
