HARRISBURG -- In what is hopefully a good sign for Tuesday night's Pirates playoff game, Western Pennsylvania legislators trounced their Eastern PA competition in a charity softball game Monday night.
Western lawmakers were victorious 8-1.
The event, dubbed the Capitol All-Stars Softball Game, aimed to raise funds for Feeding Pennsylvania, Hunger-Free Pennsylvania and their member food banks. Here's some background on the event from the always-insightful John Baer.
The game, at Harrisurg's Metro Bank Park, featured political commentary and jokes ("If anyone is hit by a foul ball, report to the first aid station after midnight, when the Affordable Care Act takes effect") in addition to sports commentary.
