Corrections officers for McCord

Published by Tim McNulty on .

. . . and in our second Democratic gubernatorial announcement of the day, state Treasurer Rob McCord picks up the nod from corrections officers.

Said the head of the Pa State Corrections Officers Association:

In announcing his union's endorsement for McCord, PSCOA President Roy Pinto said, "The life of a corrections officer is unlike that of anyone else. They are under fire from the moment the iron gate slams behind them until that same gate opens to allow them to return to a normal life. When we met with Rob McCord we sensed that he understood the challenges we face and that he was committed to working with us. We know that Rob appreciates the needs of working families better than any other candidate because he grew up in such a family. We trust Rob to deliver real results and provide the kind of leadership Pennsylvania so badly needs."

Bryn Mawr, PA - Today Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord announced that he has received the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Corrections Officers Association (PSCOA) in his campaign for governor.

"It's my pleasure and my privilege to be endorsed by Pennsylvania's corrections officers," said McCord. "These men and women work one of the toughest jobs in the state and they don't ask for much in return. I for one believe we can do more to support them and their families by investing in their success. That means better schools, a more secure retirement, and a stronger Pennsylvania economy. As governor, I look forward to working with them to start investing in Pennsylvania's families again."
