Toomey outraises Sestak

Published by Tim McNulty on .

The FEC has finally posted U.S. Sen Pat Toomey's 3rd quarter campaign finance report online, showing him with $3.6 million in cash while prepping to defend his seat in 2016. He outraised probable Democratic challenger Joe Sestak 2:1 in the three month period.

Toomey raised $763K from July through September and spent $224K. The receipts were not PAC-heavy -- rather he collected $613K from individuals to $149K from political committees.

Sestak (who lost to Toomey in 2010 is exploring a rematch) raised $335K, spent $40K, and had $913K in cash. His report shows individuals gave $296K and PACs $39K.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey -- who doesn't face reelection again until 2018 -- raised $101K, spent $122K and had $146K in cash.

The posting of FEC reports (due by Oct. 15) was delayed by the federal government shutdown.
