Peduto: Raised $657K since June

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Democratic mayoral nominee Bill Peduto has raised $657,000 since mid June -- and spent more than half of it.

His pre-election report filed today with the Allegheny County elections division shows he spent $350,000 during the period and ended Thursday with $329,000 in the bank.

Only about $29,000 came in contributions of $250 or less -- the $613,000 balance came in $441,000 from individuals and $172,000 from PACs. Large checks in the latter category game from WUF Pac, the Laborers union, Cohen & Grigsby, Clark Hill Thorp Reed -- and a couple former Ravenstahl/Wagner supporters, the Electrical Workers and the the North Side Good Govt Committee, the PAC run by the Rooneys/Steelers. Large individual contributors included Pitt-Ohio Express owner Charles Hammell III parking lot magnate Merrill Stabile ($15K), construction firm owner Louis Ruscitto and Walnut Capital developer Gregg Perelman ($5K).

He returned $10,000 loaned by ally/county executive Rich Fitzgerald's campaign and spent $100K for a recent campaign commercial.
