Published by Tim McNulty on .

Good morning.

1. Funny how the circle turns around . . . One day after municipal election day on Tuesday, Gov. Tom Corbett will officially kick off next year's gubernatorial race at an event in the Strip District.

2. Might Kathleen Kane one day run for governor too? Anyway, it looks like she's trying to broker a deal to save the August Wilson center, and get a full look at its struggling finances.

3. Another top Dem, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, is critical of the secrecy surrounding Penn State's search for a new chancellor, even when it comes to informing the school's board members. They know keeping things secret isn't cool, right?

4. This is called transition: Speaking of transparency, the state's Office of Open Records has ruled Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's office has to hand over his calendar to WTAE-TV, though the city can still appeal. Incoming Mayor Bill Peduto has promised to post his online.

5. Happy Birthday to the PG Plate food blog. Bob, whaddya say we celebrate with a $75 Pappy Van Winkle flight?
