Race tight for old Burn seat

In Allegheny County council, Republicans are in a barnburner trying to flip a seat in their direction -- the one currently held by state Democratic Party chair Jim Burn. (Should it flip Democrats are still poised to control the legislative body 10 seats to 5, though.)

Burn, of Millvale, decided not to run again for his District 3 seat. Former GOP councilman Ed Kress was barely leading Democrat Mary Gibson with about 3/4 of the precincts reporting:
