Metcalfe and city Dems join forces

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Kate Giammarise has the story on the state House's failure to approve a major transportation bill pushed by Gov. Tom Corbett last night, with the measure's fate dragged down by the odd pairing of anti-tax Republicans and pro-labor Democrats.

Here's the roll call. There aren't going to be many times you see local Republicans Daryl Metcalfe, Mike Turzai and Jim Christiana voting hand-in-hand with Pittsburgh-area Dems like Dom Costa, Dan Deasy, Frank Dermody, Adam Ravenstahl and Harry Readshaw. (Dems such as Dan Frankel, Ed Gainey, Erin Molchany and Jake Wheatley supported the measure, which was pushed by county exec Rich Fitzgerald and former Gov. Ed Rendell.)

UPDATE: Here's a sortable (by district, party) roll call from the Pa Business Council, which supports the transportation bill.
