Goodwill and cheer for all

Something to tide you over this holiday break...

At county council's last meeting, the normally cantankerous anti-drilling activists from Protect Our Parks gave their representatives a day off — and a cake.

For once, they weren't going to crowd public comment with testimony against the county's plan to drill for natural gas in Deer Lakes Park — as they've done at every meeting since August. Instead, they presented council with a Giant Eagle cake emblazoned with their logo.

Everyone at the council meeting gathered around for a photo. (Jim Burn, perhaps with an eye to his position as the chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, was the only council member to sit this photo op out.)

Any guesses as to how long this will take to end up on an anti-drilling mailer?
