8 Democrats to debate at CMU

The eight declared Democratic candidates for governor will be in Pittsburgh on Jan. 26 for a debate at Carnegie-Mellon University.

The event is sponsored by the 14th Ward Democratic Committee, the 14th Ward Independent Democratic Club, the Shady Side Dems, and the CMU Dems, according to Sam Hens-Greco, the 14th Ward chairman.  

The forum will take place at 2 p.m. in the McConomy Auditorium on CMU's campus. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and the event is open to the public.  The eight candidates, all of whom have confirmed their plans to attend the event, according to Mr. Hens-Greco, are former state DEP Secretary John Hanger, Lebanon Counnty Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz, state Treasurer Rob McCord, former DEP Secretary Kathleen McGinty, Max Myers, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, and former state Revenue Secretary Tom Wolf.
