Immigration

on

Every time someone enters the country through the normal channels, they must present documents for entry...U.S. Citizen or otherwise. In fact, Green Card holders are advised to carry their documents on them at all times while here in the U.S., in case they are questioned regarding their status. This is a very prescient argument against those disputing the legality of the AZ law recently passed.

There is only one form of immigration, and that is legal immigration...anything else is in violation of the law.

If you arrive at the airport from a trip overseas and refuse to present your passport, you will be denied entry into the country.

These examples could go on ad nauseum to demonstrate that a system is in place for legal entry into the country, and those that choose to bypass this system are in violation of the law.

Violators create dilemmas for themselves and our nation. ‘Anchor Babies’ appear protected under the 14th Amendment, even when delivered by parents who are here illegally. Illegal immigration is an abuse of the Constitution and taxpayer funds, and the dreams and aspirations of those who wait in line and play by the rules.

But instead of addressing the flood gates at the border, we have a federal government focused on amnesty and the assimilation of those already here illegally, the number of millions of which no one really knows.

The bitter irony of the situation is that many of these illegal immigrants would be welcomed here with their hard work ethic and dreams for a better life. It is just such a circumstance that some American businesses take advantage of and wish to hide, which makes them enablers of this violation of the law.

The solution is more stringent border enforcement, hiring more agents and putting up barriers promised for how long now? Instead of  ‘shovel’ ready....there are plenty more  ‘border’ ready jobs to create.

As far as the illegal immigrants here already, they will only come out of the shadows with a concerted effort by law enforcement, business and the states...because the federal government apparently is utterly useless to resolve the crisis.
