Manchin doesn't like negativity

West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, running for Bobby Byrd's old Senate seat, is up with his first television ad today that  has the feel of a 30-second gubernatorial address to his state. The spot has no cutaways, just Manchin looking at the camera and saying Republican John Raese is a Negative Nancy who just wants to attack Manchin like he did Byrd when he ran against the West Virginia legend in '06 (and was trounced by 30 points).

Manchin already enlisted the Byrd family to protest a Raese ad that used an image from Byrd's funeral, and now he's calling Raese out on his own. The ad airs statewide starting tonight:
