Ceoffe plans for mayoral endorsement
District 7 City Council candidate Anthony Ceoffe seems confident in winning the Dem committee endorsement this Sunday -- not to mention getting the support of Luke Ravenstahl in his bid to unseat Patrick Dowd.
Pittsburgh City Paper found a Ceoffe website (pictured above) planning for endorsements from the mayor, Sen. Jim Ferlo and Lauren Byrne, the head of the Lawrenceville activist group formerly headed by his father (now the neighborhood's district judge). It's since been taken down.
Ceoffe explained to CP's Charlie Deitch that the site was laid out in draft form by his younger brother (note the endorsers say "Blah Blah Blah") in order to have a running start come Monday. The Pa state employee had cited his independence from council squabbles in an earlier talk with the newsweekly, saying he would "not be a rubber stamp for one faction of council or another."
Ceoffe is one of those candidates -- as we talked about yesterday -- who has said he will not run in May if the committee does not give him its blessing. (He's the party chairman of the 6th Ward.)
