Daily Santorum: Fully caffeinated
Well, at least Rick Santorum knows how to act like he's running for president.
Note to self: check the Santorum PAC's last FEC report for spending on Red Bull and/or Sparks. The guy does not rest. The ex Senator taped an interview on job creation with CNBC and has no less than four events today in New Hampshire, starting with a Fox News interview at 11:30 am and following with a trip to Ruger Firearms in Newport, meeting at the Sullivan County GOP HQ, then addressing the NH Young Republicans dinner in Manchester at 6.
He got a little more media Sunday on Fox when John McCain addressed RS's fumble on torture, saying "I think Rick realizes he made a mistake here." That isn't exactly positive spin for RS, but at this point -- when even liberal columnists at his hometown paper compare him to Rodney Dangerfield -- he'll take whatever respect he can get.
And remember, this is a guy who eventually learned to turn his "Google Problem" into a shield of sorts (according to the guy behind the anti-Santorum online campaign). Incidentally, it looks like that problem might be getting further help from the good people at Google -- as of this morning typing in the ex Senator's name brings up the latest news stories on him at the top of the screen, not something unfit for young political wonks.
RS clearly needs free media, which is why it had to be kind of a drag for his presidential announcement announcement to get buried under the Sarah Palin newsalanche last week. His people are expecting full coverage when he makes the formal announcement Monday in Somerset -- the invite being sent to local Pittsburgh Republicans is below.
