Pants On Fire for cancer ad

Pants on FireThe Pulitzer-winning PolitiFact folks at the St. Pete Times took a look at the Americans For Prosperity ads targeting Kathy Dahlkemper, Chris Carney and other key Democratic votes on health reform, and particularly its claims on cutbacks in mammography screenings.

"There's an awful lot of misinformation and distortion packed into to these few sentences, and we'll have to take them one at a time," they found, giving the ad their worst "Pants On Fire" label.

Dahlkemper reacted harshly to the claims yesterday -- both her parents died in the last two months to cancer-related illnesses.
