Chamber pushes new Sestak ad

Published by Daniel Malloy on .

After their first salvo in the Pennsylvania Senate race got so much attention the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is back on the air with another television ad attacking Democrat Joe Sestak. The Chamber, in a news release, says the ad will air in "multiple markets" across the state. Once again, the ad takes Sestak and ties him to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Jumping from the controversy over the Chamber's first ad -- when Sestak cried foul over the claim that he votes with Pelosi 100 percent of the time -- the ad asks why Sestak would deny voting "lockstep" with the speaker, and pointing out their shared support for the health care reform bill, cap-and-trade (in Chamberspeak, a job-killing energy tax) and large spending bills.

"Tell him to put the people of Pennsylvania before the policies of Pelosi," the ad urges.

With a reported $75 million political bankroll, the Chamber is weighing in both early and often this election cycle, with a keen eye on PA.
