Altmire's on the air

Rep. Jason Altmire has been raising a ton of money -- as of June 30, he was sitting on a cool $1.4 million -- and he's putting it to use 10 weeks out from Election Day in a Toomeyesque early ad buy. The ads (first reported this morning by PA2010) will be on broadcast and cable television and radio, Altmire campaign manager Rachael Heisler said.

Heisler said the campaign will be on the air from now until Nov. 2. The ads should be on the campaign website, she said, at some point today and we'll post 'em when they are.

UPDATE: The ad is up, and it's all about Altmire not backing the Democratic agenda. "I like that Jason Altmire is not afraid to stand up to the president," says one fella. As I noted in my Sunday story on local Democratic incumbents, backing off the Washington leadership is probably a shrewd move.
