To the suprise of absolutely no one, the Post-Gazette editorial board today endorsed Democrat Joe Sestak for Senate, while on the other side of the Allegheny, the Tribune-Review's board endorsed Republican Pat Toomey. The P-G called Sestak the "voice of reason" in the campaign, while the Trib praised Toomey's understanding of "fundamental economics and government's role in facilitating economic growth."

The Trib also endorsed Republican Tom Corbett for governor, stating that Pennsylvania "cannot survive a third Ed Rendell term." The P-G's gubernatorial endorsement has not yet been announced.
