AFSCME prez rallies for Dems

At noon tomorrow, the president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Gerald McEntee (AP photo above), will rally City of Philadelphia retirees with Democrats Joe Sestak and Dan Onorato. (The release from AFL-CIO promises: "High energy rally with members and retirees in union T-shirts, waving signs in support of Sestak and Onarato in last days of tightening campaign.")

AFSCME is the largest outside spender in the midterms, pumping an astounding (well, I guess it's hard to be shocked by any of these numbers anymore) $87.5 million into the races.

Also notable is the joint appearance by Sestak and Onorato. There has been much made -- including in this newspaper -- of the friction between the Sestak camp and the Democrats' coordinated statewide campaign, but this is one sign that they might now be on the same page.
