President Barack Obama was in the Philly area today for his first pseudo-campaign road trip since announcing the re-elect (he's also heading to New York City to raise a few bucks). He invited some of the Pennsylvania Congressional delegation to join him but none did. In their defense, there is quite a bit going on in D.C. today, what with a government shutdown looming, but it's rare for the POTUS to travel without some friendly home-state legislators aboard. Politico has the explanations from Sen. Bob Casey and others.
