Bang!

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Our notebook says our first flinch of the NRA convention came when we heard a gunshot at 10:02 a.m.

That's what happens when you sit down absent-mindedly outside the Pyramyd Air air gun range.

The news of the day so far remains the traffic outside. The streets our a mess in every direction, as people head straight for the convention center looking for a place to park -- problem is, there ain't any there (the convo garage itself is closed to accomodate exibitors and lease holders) and there is EXACTLY ONE traffic cop in the area to deal with traffic. (We walked the entire perimeter for at least 10 blocks around.) And he doesn't have anything to do, really, since the traffic isn't moving.

Tip: try parking in the Strip somewhere and walking over, which means coming into town from the east. Even Liberty Avenue is backed up all the way to the Ft. Pitt Tunnels.
