McCullough cites support

Had an interesting talk with GOP county exec candidate Chuck McCullough last night. First, he said he had no idea that his trial date on fraud charges was scheduled (on Friday) for Nov. 14. Second, he had no response to Jim Roddey's comments that it would be "tragic" (see our story here) if he were to win the primary. Third, he disputed our report that he raised no money for his county exec run -- he said he raised around $7,600, though we can't find evidence of that on the county's campaign finance website.
Even if he has that sum, it's a far cry from the $246K Raja spent to defeat him. Nor does he enjoy the establishment GOP support Raja does. But he does have some support. The conservative Pa Republican Leadership Council tweeted last night that McCullough won their endorsement, citing his "support for Beliefs and Principles." And he has endorsements from Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91 in West Homestead (yes, a police union is endorsing a guy accused of taking money from an elderly legal client; those are police officials with McC above); the Western Pa Restaurant Assoc. (since he's fought against the drink tax); LifePAC; and Firearms Owners Against Crime (so make that two supposed anti-crime groups tapping him).
