Unions protest Corbett suit
A labor-affiliated group plans to protest Tom Corbett's lawsuit against the health reform bill outside his Downtown Pittsburgh office today at 11:30. From a press release:
Not only will [the suit] cost millions of dollars, if he were to be successful Pennsylvanians would not be protected by recently passed reforms, seniors would get their donut hole back and the commonwealth would lose millions in federal dollars in the coming years.
The rally is sponsored by Health Care for American now whose member groups include Service Employees International Union, United Food and Commercial Workers, Pennsylvania Communities Organizing for Change, the United Steelworkers and Pennsylvania Healthcare Access Network.
In related news, the AFL-CIO will not be endorsing District 17 incumbent Tim Holden of Schuylkill County, one of two Dem congressman from Pa (along with Jason Altmire) who did not vote in favor of HCR. (Talking Points Memo)
