Good night for Dem committee

Say this for the Allegheny County Democratic Committee -- their endorsements were rock solid today just as long as you weren't tied to a certain Pittsburgh mayor.

The party's whole slate in the big races -- from exec to controller to judge to the McGough/Shields DJ race -- won today. Only in the Pgh City Council races, where the city sections of the committee (which are loaded with city government employees) tapped Ravenstahl-supported challengers to 3 incumbents, did the party machinery falter.

(Another council incumbent who supports the mayor, Ricky Burgess, was passed over by the committee and also won.)
