More on Corey O'Connor
Brian O'Neill had more over the weekend on the guy everybody's courting on City Council, young Corey O'Connor:
Residents of his district showed they still like the O'Connor brand, but his role in a dysfunctional city hall is the more pertinent issue now. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who ascended to the office when Bob O'Connor died, tried and failed to knock off three of the mayor's council thorns in the primaries -- Darlene Harris, Bruce Kraus and Patrick Dowd aren't going anywhere.
Mr. O'Connor was the only council candidate with Democratic Committee endorsement to win. When I mentioned to Mr. O'Connor that the mayor seemed to like him, he smiled and said, "We'll see.''
O'Connor still has an election in November to get through. He faces Francophobe Josh Wander, who issued a letter to the Democrat over the weekend calling for debates.
