Daily Santorum: Chinese buffet
With the candidate in South Carolina for two days, it's a back to basics day for the rest of us in Rick Santorum news, and by that we mean RS getting attacked by the liberal media and doing some attacking on behalf of the Fox News gang.
First off, Ron Reagan Jr. went after Santorum in his sign off last night from his guest-hosting gig on "Hardball," saying the ex senator is "a lonely, homophobic voice shrieking in the wilderness." (Reagan was going over the same Defense of Marriage Act ground as Jon Stewart the other day; all these shows recycle the same material, kind of like the way that all takeout Chinese food seems to come from the same kitchen, no matter where you order it from.)
NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's decision to keep religious officials off the speaker's list at the city's 9/11 commemoration. We didn't know anything about this, so we simply googled it and got the dope from Fox News and the Wall St. Journal, aka the Chinese takeout of the right. (Here's a helpful post called "Bloomberg Bans Clergy From 9/11 Ceremony but Ground Zero Mosque OK" and another called "9/11 Exclusion Spurs Outrage.")"James Madison called our nation's vibrant public expression of faith the 'perfect remedy' and if there was ever a day in recent history that our nation needed such a remedy it was September 11th, 2001. It is disconcerting that Mayor Bloomberg decided to exclude clergy from the ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of this horrific attack. I urge Mayor Bloomberg to reconsider his unfortunate decision. It is important to allow clergy to attend and take part in the memorial intended to bind the wounds of a still healing nation."
