Daily Santorum: Field of Dreams

Published by Tim McNulty on .

We're a super-busy today -- on election forgery and what-not -- so only time for a quick look at Rick today.

If you're interested in the GOP primary, you know all about the early state calendar shenanigans going on. Santorum came out fast to defend Iowa, NH, SC, and it's already paid off in the Des Moines Register:

In response to rogue states’ jockeying for earlier nominating votes in violation of Republican party rules, presidential candidate Rick Santorum today called on all the candidates to back the authorized early states.

Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, has campaigned harder in Iowa than any other candidate as he fights to gain ground in the 2012 race.

Florida is one of  the latest state poised to push its primary date ahead of Iowa in order to capture more influence in the nominating process.

Santorum said in a written statement this morning:

“Anyone who’s watched the debates realizes that even as Republicans, there are many issues we don’t agree on. But there are two things we all should agree on: Barack Obama has to go and Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina should remain first in the presidential primary process.

Fortuitously, RS is back in Iowa this weekend (schedule after the jump), where he will participate in" a 1870s style baseball game at Living History Farms in Urbandale, IA."
