Altmire: $700K on hand

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Jason Altmire's campaign released a statement this afternoon saying his 3rd quarter fundraising take is his best on record, and he had $700K going into the end of the year. (He had about $426K on hand in July.)

Full statement from the Democrat's team after the jump:

The campaign of U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire raised more money during the third quarter of 2011 than in any comparable period of his three prior congressional campaigns.

The approximately $375,000 Altmire raised during the period July 1 through September 30, 2011, easily exceeds the totals he raised during the same period in 2005, 2007 and 2009 -- the first-years of his three successful congressional races.

The personal best third-quarter is especially impressive given Altmire's proven track record as a prodigious fundraiser, having raised more than $6.5 million in total during his three previous races.

With more than $900,000 raised so far this year and approximately $700,000 cash-on-hand through September 30, Altmire enjoys widespread support and is well positioned for another strong campaign in 2012.

All congressional campaigns are required to file their updated quarterly reports by October 15.
