Sophie Masloff hospitalized

Former Pittsburgh Mayor Sophie Masloff went to UPMC Shadyside for tests this morning on her doctor's recommendation, her attorney said.

Frederick Frank said Ms. Masloff, 93, had not felt well for two days.

"She is resting comfortably and thus far the tests do not indicate anything of concern," Mr. Frank said.

Pittsburgh's first female mayor, serving from May 1988 to January 1994, Ms. Masloff will be 94 in December.
