Raja: Spent $271K; $1.4M in self-debt

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Republican Allegheny County executive candidate D. Raja spent $271,532 in the waning days of his losing bid against Democrat Rich Fitzgerald and rang up even more debt, in the end spending $1.4 million of his own money.

Other than the money the tech company president spent himself, his largest contributors from Oct. 27-Dec. 8 were Tribune-Review publisher Richard Scaife ($7,500) and PNC's PAC ($5,000). He spent $180,000 in late advertising.

He ended the period with a $3,000 balance.
