Turzai mum on Congress

Published by Tim McNulty on .

Pa House Majority Leader Mike Turzai is still not addressing whether he will get into the GOP congressional race to take on Jason Altmire/Mark Critz in the reconstituted 12th District.

Rich Lord caught up with the Bradford Woods Republican at the press conference on the UPMC/Highmark dispute this morning and filed the following:

"I've got an important job as a representative from the 28th district," said Turzai. He also said his colleagues have "blessed" him with his leadership role in the House. "I have significant responsibilities in that position."

He did not completely rule out a run for higher office, and wouldn't say whether he is involved in trying to identify a Republican candidate for the 12th district Congressional set.
