Daily Santorum: Flavor of the day

Published by James O'Toole on .

Rick Santorum started his day on MSNBC's Morning Joe, as he basked in the some of the first polls results finding a pulse in his longtime longshot campaign.  He became the flavor of the day in the Hawkeye State with the release of a CNN/Time/ORC survey showing him in third place at 16 percent, just ahead of a slumping Newt Gingrich Other polls also show him gaining, although not at the same rate at the CNN survey. He was spending most of the balance of his day in the eastern half of the state, with appearance sin Corralville, Muscatine, and Davenport.

On Friday, he planned to be back in the Des Moines area, with a variety of events including watch parties for the Pinstripe Bowl, where Iowa State will take on Rutgers, and the Insight Bowl, where the University of Iowa is challenging Oklahoma.  No danger of mixed loyalties there.  Neither oklahoma nor New Jersey has a primary that anyone cares about.  Plus, N.J. Gov. Chris Christie has endorsed Mitt Romney.
