Obama campaign opening Pittsburgh office
The Obama campaign is opening its Pittsburgh field office on Thursday evening.
Volunteers and supporters are invited to meet local staff and volunteer leaders at the office at 1400 Smallman St. The program starts at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald is scheduled to be there.
The Pittsburgh office is the fifth the campaign has opened in Pennsylvania for the 2012 election. The campaign has been organizing in the state since early 2009, and volunteers have been making calls and holding house parties since President Obama launched his re-election bid in April.
