Manchin addressing impasse

UPDATE 2: Manchin's office postponed his press conference shortly after 4 p.m.

With all signs pointing to an impasse in the WVa legislature over the special Senate election, Gov. Joe Manchin may be forced to call an election himself. He'll address the issue later this afternoon, his office says:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Joe Manchin today will join Senate President Earl Ray Tomblin and House Speaker Rick Thompson for a press conference regarding the succession process and to discuss the next steps in this process.

EVENT Gov. Joe Manchin will participate in a media availability regarding the succession process.

TIME 3:30 p.m. (UPDATE: It was later changed to 4:30 p.m.)
