Progressivism and Health Care: The Incurable Pre-existing Condition
What transpired Sunday evening March 21, 2010 in Washington, DC was a violation of the Constitution and the Commerce Clause, whereby the Federal Government voted to regulate interstate commerce ‘inactivity’. If you don’t buy health insurance you will be fined and penalized. You will be fined and penalized for ‘not’ doing something.
You have been violated my friends... not by lawmakers, but by outlaws!
The only disease not covered under the new bill is the pre-existing condition of Progressivism. Progressives are a danger to society and the Constitution in general. For certain, the mess of entitlement programs has been an exploding disaster over time at ever-increasing debt. The health care system problems of this nation can only be improved by continuous improvement on a proactive and incremental basis. Every time the Left achieves majority, they look for the next policy cliff to jump off. It happened with Social Security and then with Medicare, and now Health Care Reform. But with each new cliff dive, the cliff has been elevated by the failures of the previous failures.
Message to government....stop promising ice cream you can’t deliver!
Every time the public gets a taste of your new flavor, they will want more and expect more forever. You can never deliver.
The Federal Government has been the most inept and most corrupt insurance provider to American citizens since the 1930’s.
Government is the real disease that needs cured.
The size of government must be reduced, with departments slashed and salaries reduced to private sector levels. This is the first step to reducing the deficit.
New hiring and spending must be frozen for at least five years and limited to government essentials of national defense and the ‘general welfare’ of the nation not to be confused with ‘individual welfare’. Federal employees are some of the biggest tax cheats in our system, and the government does nothing to reign in their own. Heal thyself government!
These are some of the things I would propose immediately upon being elected, after first repealing this monstrosity of Progressive ideology, and drafting an incremental time line of legislative measures beginning with tort reform and increasing competition of insurance companies across state lines......which are actually within the control of the states themselves, if the Fed would just keep their nose out of our business!
