Pgh GOP pick in the red
Coraopolis Republican Melissa Haluszczak is $1,500 in the hole in her bid to unseat longtime Pittsburgh/Forest Hills Democratic Rep. Mike Doyle.
The paralegal and Tea Party activist ended June with a negative $1,531 cash balance, after raising $6,900 during the second quarter reporting period and spending $8,500. Her single largest contribution, at $597, was an in-kind gift of 1000 pocket Constitutions from a retired Turtle Creek supporter (for which he was later reimbursed). Her spending was largely on signs, postage, and fundraising.
Doyle has $429,000 on hand.
