Home cooking for Burns
Republican Tim Burns is popular in his hometown of Washington, Pa. (Though he lost Washington County by 3 points in the May 18 special for District 12.)
The P-G's excellent Janice Crompton (see her latest on Bill DeWeese's reelection battle here) sends along this tidbit from political science students at W&J:
Dr. Joseph DiSarro, chairman of Washington & Jefferson College's political science department, says 50 of his students polled a group of supervoters in Washington County. Fifty poli-sci students polled 10 likely voters by phone, talking 500 people, with a 4-point margin of error. The results:
46.2 Corbett
35.4 Onorato
18.4 Undecided
44.6 Toomey
36.9 Sestak
18.5 Undecided
42.1 Burns
38.5 Critz
19.4 Undecided
Poll Question: Describe your attitude towards President Obama
35.9 Favorable
48.7 Unfavorable
15.4 Undecided
Said DiSarro: "What surprised me was the large number of undecideds and probably the large margin that Toomey has."
