Energy Secretary to Erie

Friday morning Energy Secretary Steven Chu will visit Erie to tour Seaway Manufacturing Corp., a company that makes energy efficient windows, accompanied by Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, D-Erie. Chu, according to a Department of Energy press release issued today, will then deliver remarks about tax breaks for energy efficiency.

Bringing home a cabinet secretary is a nice plum for a freshman member of Congress, and as we've seen with Arlen Specter, can be a sign that the administration smiles upon you. Might the event, which begins at 9:45 a.m. at Seaway HQ (2250 East 33rd Street, Erie) have something to do with Dahlkemper's late-breaking support of the health care bill?
