GOP seeks Rendell/Sestak records
State GOP chairman Rob Gleason filed a Right To Know request today with Gov. Ed Rendell's office, seeking cell phone and email records on his correspondence with the White House over its job offer to Joe Sestak He said in a statement:
"Governor Ed Rendell admitted to having ‘discussions’ with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel about how to get Joe Sestak out of the U.S. Senate race. How many discussions? Were there email exchanges, and, if so, what was suggested? He’s said that ‘this’ type of behavior has been going on for years, but the fact of the matter is that these types of ‘Chicago-style’ politics are never acceptable.
“Governor Ed Rendell has said that Democrats need to do a better job of explaining their attempts to bribe Joe Sestak out of the race. I agree. Now it’s time for Governor Ed Rendell to put his money where his mouth is and comply with our request as soon as possible.”
