Specter writing new memoir
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Arlen Specter is working on a third book, which will focus primarily on the turbulent past two years.
In an interview today, Mr. Specter said he is working evenings in his Washington condo with Charles Robbins, his co-author on his first memoir, Passion for Truth, in 2000. Mr. Specter also wrote Never Give In: Battling Cancer in the Senate, released in 2008.
Since then, Mr. Specter switched from Republican to Democrat and lost an intense Democratic primary race to Rep. Joe Sestak, so there's plenty to write about.
It also might provide some clues to his future. When asked what his plans are after he leaves the Senate in January, Mr. Specter replied, "You're going to have to buy the book to find that out."
