Palin back to Pa
Ex VP candidate/Alaska guv Sarah Palin will be in Hershey in just over three weeks for a $200/plate fundraiser/dinner for the Pennsylvania Family Institute, the Patriot-News reports.
The August 27 speech will be her first appearance in the state since her book tour stop in Washington County in November. She also endorsed Tim Burns in the hotly contested PA-12 special in May, which reminds of us this -- her endorsements hurt candidates more than help them, according to a new poll from Society for Human Resource Management/National Journal.
The poll, done in conjuction with the Pew Research Center, found 38% of respondents were less likely to support congressional candidates if she campaigned for them, to 18 percent who would be more likely. (Those were worse numbers than those for Barack Obama or the tea party movement.)
The Kathy Dahlkemper camp is hip to that phenomenon -- they've been using Palin's support of Mike Kelly to fundraise on the freshman Democrat's behalf. Graphic below from the National Journal:
