We all know there's no love lost between Ed Rendell and the GOP -- see Sean Hamill's story yesterday on Rendell admitting he'd never get a drilling moratorium through the Republican state Senate, partially because they despise him so.

That said, the outgoing guv stuck the knife in pretty hard in his intro of DNC head Tim Kaine in Philadelphia yesterday. From the WashPost:

In his introduction of Kaine, Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell (D) ridiculed Republicans, saying the GOP is being run by "fruit loops."

"It's a party that's slowly but surely being taken over by wackos," he said. "They're nuts. They're flat-out crazy."
