Wired.com has an OK new tool out they dub "Influence Tracker" that allows you to track the top 10 contributors to all members of the House and Senate.
We say it's only OK because, despite the tool's name, it does not make any correlations between the fundraising totals and any "influence" on votes. It counts on readers to do that, and Wired itself said in its announcement today that it's "not a deep research tool — it is primarily promotional."
But it shows promise, and we were also intrigued by their entry on McCandless Democrat Jason Altmire, which notes that of all 455 members of the House, he is ranked 33rd in total fundraising. That's impressive, and it's one of the reasons he's tough to beat.
