Guns, god and Sarah Palin
Joe Manchin clings to a 3-point lead in the Pollster poll averages today over WVa Senate
opponent John Raese.
As we mentioned a couple days ago, Raese brought out the big guns on Saturday, holding a rally headlined by Sarah Palin and Ted Nugent. That's the Nuge playing the Star Spangled Banner at right, and here's the Charleston Gazette on the rally:
Palin urged West Virginians to vote down Manchin and force him to serve out his term as governor. She said she thinks Manchin is a good governor, and that "Manchin in the Mansion just kind of fits."
"We can't afford politicians that will rubber stamp [the Democrats'] agenda," said Palin, whose husband, Todd, also traveled to Charleston. "We can't afford this mother of all mandates, 'Obamacare.'"
Palin made a point to say West Virginians and Alaskans are politically similar. Residents in both states cling "to our guns, our God, and our Constitution," she said, playing on similar words Obama once used to describe Democrats' opponents in western Pennsylvania.
