GOP's McKinley up in WV-1

Published by Tim McNulty on .

David McKinley is poised to be the first Republican to represent WVa's 1st congressional district since Arch Moore more than 40 years ago.

With 100% of the vote counted, he led Democrat Mike Oliverio by 734 votes. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but if the lead holds Dems will be looking back on a candidate (as we wrote last month) who curiously didn't have the support of almighty labor and/or coal in the race, as did Joe Manchin at the top of the ticket.
