Rave: $50K to Dwight Evans
Philly mayor Michael Nutter is understandably a big supporter of state Rep. Dwight Evans -- who's facing an appropriations committee challenge from Joe Markosek of Monroeville -- but we've noticed the Philly rep got mayoral help on this side of the state too.
Late-filed state finance reports show Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's campaign gave Evans a whopping $50,000 on Oct. 21. (We don't see any big 2010 checks to Dan Onorato, by the way, in the state's hard-to-figure campaign finance site. The biggest Ravenstahl for Mayor check last month was $1,000 to Todd Eachus -- he has an outstanding $10,000 loan to brother Adam's state Rep campaign from early in the year.)
Nutter has supported Evans' bid to hold on as ranking Dem leader on appropriations -- the number 3 leadership spot for the party -- and sent out this tweet yesterday:
"If u live in Phila region pls contact ur Dem state rep, urge them 2 spprt @RepDwightEvans 4 Appropriations Chair. He's a champion 4 our city"
