Former US Sen. and south Pgh Rep. Rick Santorum is growing more open about his intentions to run for president, reports Colby Itkowitz in the Morning Call, so much so that he's reversing course on earmarks. He told a Rotary Club in New Hampshire that he's now fully against them:

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, who is becoming less and less coy about his 2012 presidential aspirations, admitted during a luncheon Monday that he was once an ardent earmarker, but now believes they should be banned.

"I feel like I'm at an AA meeting, " Santorum told a room of local Rotary Club members. "Hi, I'm Rick, and I was an earmarker."

Up north, Congressman-elect Mike Kelly of Butler, a health care reform foe, says he plans to refuse federal coverage. From the Erie Times-News:

"Because of my business, I have health coverage," said Kelly, a Butler car dealer who defeated one-term incumbent Democrat Kathy Dahlkemper, of Erie, in the Nov. 2 race for the 3rd Congressional District seat.

"If they allow me to keep that coverage, I'm going to keep that coverage," Kelly said. "That's what I intended from the beginning."
